Actiontec M1000 Transparent Bridging

These configuration instructions will guide you through configuring your Actiontec modem in Transparent Bridging mode. You must set up the Actiontec modem before configuring your computer with any information sent by our DSL department.

  1. Follow the instructions provided with your Actiontec modem to connect your Actiontec modem to your computer and DSL line.

Your computer should be configured to obtain an IP address automatically from the Actiontec modem. If you are using a Macintosh, select Configure Using: DHCP Server in your Network Preferences.

  2. Open a web browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in the Address Bar. On the screen that appears, click on the Quick Setup tab.
  3. Click on the link labeled, Click here for advanced settings only if required by your ISP.
  4. Now you should see the following.
  5. In the Wan IP Address section, under the first step, choose RFC 1483 Transparent Bridging
  6. Then, scroll down the screen and hit the Apply button to save the changes.
  7. You're done. It may take a minute or two for the Actiontec to save the changes. You will still need to configure any devices or computers behind the modem with the static IP information provided by SpiritOne before you can access the Internet.
