Zoom X6 Routed Bridged Configuration
These configuration instructions will guide you through configuring your Zoom X6 modem to provide access for multiple computers, with the IP address assigned by SpiritOne on the modem.
- Follow the instructions provided with your Zoom modem to connect your Zoom modem to your computer and DSL line.
Your computer should be configured to obtain an IP address automatically from the modem. If you are using a Macintosh, select Configure Using: DHCP Server. - Open a web browser and enter 10.0.0.2 in the Address Bar. You should receive a prompt to enter a username and password, unless you have already changed them. Enter "admin" for the username and "zoomadsl" for the password.
- You should see a page similar to the following:
- Set the Protocol drop-down to 1483 Bridged IP + NAT.
- Set the Encapsulation to LLC.
- Enter 0 (that's the number zero) into the VPI box.
- Enter 35 into the VCI box if the modem will be using a Verizon DSL line. If the modem will be using a Qwest DSL line, enter 32 in that box.
- Move the radio button to select Use the Following IP Address.
- Enter the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway Address supplied by our DSL department into their respective fields.
- Enter 216.99.193.19 into the DNS box.
- Set the NAT drop-down to Enabled.
- Hit the Save Changes button.
- Then, hit the Write Settings to Flash button.
- That's it!
