Let Us Connect You
Thunderbird SMTP Authentication Configuration
When connected to the Internet from a non-SpiritOne Internet connection, or while using our Nationwide Dial-up service, connections to our outgoing mail server need to be authenticated, essentially "proving" to our mail server that you are a SpiritOne customer, and not a spammer.
These instructions will walk you through configuring Mozilla Thunderbird to authenticate with our SMTP server.
- In Thunderbird, click on the Tools menu and select Accounts.
- Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left.
- Select the SpiritOne outgoing mail server from the box and click on Edit.
- Check the Use Name and Password box.
- Enter your SpiritOne username in the User Name field.
- Hit OK.
- Hit OK to close the Accounts window.
- That's it! You can now use Thunderbird to send email through the SpiritOne outgoing mail server. Thunderbird will prompt you for your password the first time you try to send your email.
