Spasm Documentation:

Four Quick Steps to Using Spasm

1. Getting to Spasm

From the SpiritOne home page, click on Spasm on the left side of the page.

2. Logging into Spasm

  • Enter your username (e.g., if your address is joe@spiritone.com, enter joe).
  • Enter your password.
  • Select your ISP (SpiritOne, Aracnet, or Involved) from the drop down box.
  • Click on Login.

3. Setting Spasm Filters

To change your filter settings, click on Mail Filters in the upper portion of the Spasm screen. We recommend beginning with a medium filter setting. Click on Medium and then Update.

4. Managing the Quarantine

Periodically review your quarantine, a list of messages Spasm has identified as spam, by clicking on Quarantine. Move legitimate email to your mailbox by one of the following methods:

  • Deliver messages one at a time by clicking on the icon, which also adds the sender address to the Whitelist, a list of contacts whom you trust to send legitimate email.
  • Or, Deliver multiple messages to your mailbox by clicking on the checkbox to the left of each message you wish to move. Select Deliver & whitelist selected messages from the drop down box located at the top center of the page and click on Submit.

When only spam remains in the quarantine, delete all of the spam by selecting Delete all messages from the dropdown box centered just above the Quarantine window. Click on Submit. Remember, this is an irreversible step.

Those are the basic steps to using Spasm. For more in-depth information, follow the links at the top of this page to access Spasm documentation.
