Economy Web Hosting

Please click here for Enhanced Webhosting Support.

Any questions about our web hosting services should be directed to Domains@SpiritOne.com

While we do not explicitly support any code supplied by our users, questions about web page code, cgi scripts, or perl scripts should be emailed to Webmaster@SpiritOne.com

Our web server supports CGI, PERL, and PHP4. Our web server does not support ASP, .NET, or Cold Fusion. FrontPage Server Extensions are available for Enhanced Web Hosting customers.

PHP4 requires no special configurations. A special directory for PERL or CGI scripts is required to use either. You can request a CGI directory by emailing Support@SpiritOne.com.

Uploading your web pages

All web page files should be uploaded into the public_html directory.

Web files uploaded for personal web pages can be found at http://www.spiritone.com/~{yourusername}.

If no index.html file is present in your public_html directory, you will receive an "Access Forbidden" error message until a file named index.html (or index.htm, or index.php, etc...) is uploaded to your public_html directory.

The command-line FTP client included in Windows will not work with our FTP server. Unix command line FTP should work normally.

Uploading files with an FTP client

NOTE: even though we recommend the following free FTP clients for you to install and use to upload and download web content to and from your space on the server, support for the programs is very limited, in most cases covering just the basic settings for the program.

What are People Saying about SpiritOne?

"I love that SpiritOne is local, and on those occasions when I have called tech support, I spoke to someone who was HERE instead of India, and who was fluent in English (no offense to India, or Indians but on a couple of occasions with other tech support systems my call was directed overseas with very frustrating results)."
