Web Mail FAQ

Web Mail is an easy and convenient way to check your mail when you are away from your main computer, whether at work, out of town, or even on the other side of the world! Web Mail is also useful when your regular email program is broken or can't download a big message from the server.

How do I check my email using Web Mail?

To access Web Mail, use the Web Mail Login at the top of this page, and log in with your email address and password.

You can use the "Remember Me" radio button to have our web mail automatically remember your log in information the next time you visit our home page. Do not use the "Remember Me" feature on public computers or any computer where you are not the sole user, as that feature could give prying eyes access to your email.

How do I create a new message?

To compose a new email, click on the Compose button. When you have filled in the To:, Send: and the body of the message, click on Send in the upper right.

How do I send an attachment?

To include an attachment with an email you send, first compose a new message. Then click on the Attach button in the upper right, navigate to the file you wish to attach in the new window that opens, and click on the Attach button at the bottom of the new window. When the window closes, click on the Send button in the upper right.

How do I change which address from which I send?

After you click on the Compose button, a field labeled From: will appear, with an arrow on the right side. Click on the arrow to choose a different address from which to send.

Where are the Deleted Items and Sent Items folders?

Web Mail does not feature a Deleted Items or Sent Items folder. Since space is at a premium, and Web Mail is an interface that looks at mail directly on the SpiritOne server, Web Mail will not save copies of messages you send or delete.

What happens to messages I delete?

When a message is deleted from Web Mail, it is deleted from the mail server itself, so is gone forever, and totally irretrievable. So, be careful when you delete from Web Mail!

Does Web Mail have an address book?

Yes. To add addresses to the address book, click on the Address Book button, type the contact's name in the Name field and their email address in the Email Address field.

Can I make the Spam Report button automatically delete messages I report?

To auto-delete spam when reporting with the Spam button, click on the Options button, and change the option Automatically delete reported spam from No to Yes in the drop-down menu.

What other Options can I set?

If you click on the Options button on the upper left, the Options page will come up. From here, you can:

  • Change the default email address you send from by selecting it from the drop-down menu labeled Default Email Address
  • Set a default Reply-To address by typing it in the Reply-To field
  • Keep a record of messages you send by choosing Yes in the BCC self when sending messages menu
  • To compose email messages in a new window, choose Yes from the Compose in new window menu
  • If you'd like Web Mail to ask for a confirmation when you delete email from the Inbox, choose Yes from the Confirm when deleting messages menu
  • If you'd like Web Mail to ask for a confirmation when you report spam with the Spam button, choose Yes from the Confirm when reporting spam menu
  • And finally, if you want each message that you send to end with your email signature, type what you'd like to use as a signature in the Signature field
