Actiontec M1000 Routed Bridging

These configuration instructions will guide you through configuring your Actiontec modem with your static IP address on the modem.

  1. Follow the instructions provided with your Actiontec modem to connect your Actiontec modem to your computer and DSL line.

    Your computer should be configured to obtain an IP address automatically from the Actiontec modem. If you are using a Macintosh, select Configure Using: DHCP Server in your Network Preferences.

     

  2. Open a web browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in the Address Bar. On the screen that appears, click on the Quick Setup tab.Actiontec M1000 Configuration Screenshot
  3. Click on the link labeled, Click here for advanced settings only if required by your ISP.Actiontec M1000 Configuration Screenshot

  5. In the Wan IP Address section, under the first step, choose RFC 1483 via Static IP
  6. In the Select the IP type section, enter the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address supplied by our DSL department.
  7. Scroll down the screen until you see Select the DNS typeActiontec M1000 Configuration Screenshot
  8. Move the radio button to Static DNS
  9. For Primary DNS, enter: 216.99.193.19
  10. For Secondary DNS, enter: 216.99.193.2
  11. Then, click the Apply button to save the changesActiontec M1000 Configuration Screenshot
  12. You're done. It may take a minute or two for the Actiontec to save the changes, but once it does, you'll be able to access the Internet through your Actiontec M-1000 modem.
